An Introductory and Informational Meeting for Students Was Held at TÖMER

Aksaray University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) organized an introductory and orientation meeting to inform students about the center's educational processes, practices, and social activities.
The meeting, organized by Aksaray University TÖMER, took place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM in TÖMER Classroom No. 5.
Attended by TÖMER Director Prof. Dr. Tuncay Türkben, as well as the center's teaching staff and administrative personnel, the meeting provided students with information regarding TÖMER’s activities, educational processes, examination procedures, attendance requirements, and social-cultural activities.
A presentation delivered during the meeting explained that Aksaray University TÖMER operates with the aim of supporting international students and foreigners in learning Turkish, promoting Turkey and Turkish culture, and helping students use the Turkish language effectively in both academic and daily life.
Students were also briefed on the Turkish language training program conducted at TÖMER, the proficiency levels, and important points to consider during the training process. Emphasis was placed on the necessity for students to attend classes regularly, keep track of exam dates and announcements, and pay attention to deadlines for applications and appeals.
The meeting also highlighted TÖMER’s activities designed to support students' social and cultural development alongside their academic progress. In this context, examples of past events—such as *iftar* programs, excursions to Selime Cathedral and Ihlara Valley, and tree-planting activities—were shared. Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held where students asked questions about topics that interested them. The meeting concluded after questions regarding TÖMER’s educational activities and ongoing operations were answered.
